Health Care and Cultivation (HCC)

One person.
One evolving whole-person record.

Health is shaped by more than medical visits. IHAI explores how people's experiences, relationships and knowledge can stay connected over time.

The record belongs to the person, and the person decides how it is shared.

The problem

Care sees part of a person. Health happens in between.

An appointment captures symptoms and a diagnosis. Sleep, meals, family duties, work stress and the people who help us all shape health between visits.

  1. Visit
  2. Sleep
  3. Meals
  4. A long work shift
  5. Caring for a parent
  6. Daily practice
  7. A new job
  8. Time with friends
  9. Volunteer help
  10. Next visit

Our approach

Health is cared for in visits and cultivated across a life.

Health Care and Cultivation (HCC) connects professional care with everyday living, personal knowledge, relationships and responsible AI support.

People

Stewards carry care between visits.

Families, practitioners and communities contribute knowledge and continuity.

The person

The record stays theirs.

An evolving record preserves context while the person keeps control over sharing.

AI support

AI organizes. People decide.

AI helps organize information and find gaps for human review.

The whole person

People live whole lives. The record should hold them.

Health connects to work, home, learning, relationships, community and purpose.

How HCC works

Four steps, with a person in charge of each one.

  1. Listen

The person shares their story and priorities in their own words.

  2. Preserve

Each piece is kept with its source, date and domain.

  3. Ask before sharing

Every use must answer who, what, where, when, why and how.

  4. Support

    Stewards and practitioners follow up.

Proposed integrated workflow. Its components are at different stages of development and testing; the full workflow is not yet in use.

Prototype

Try the HCC intake.

Choose a nickname, tell an invented story in your own words and watch it become a record that keeps those words. Switch to the steward, practitioner and coordinator views, and try TCM Insight for tongue, face and pulse observations.

Stewardship

Honor Humans.
Make All the Work Count.

A record preserves what matters. People make it meaningful.

Much of what keeps people well is done by people who are rarely recognized or rewarded. IHAI explores ways to preserve their contributions, support their knowledge and create meaningful roles in care and community life.

  • The person

Knows their own life better than anyone.

  • Families

    Provide continuity across years.

  • Practitioners

    Bring judgment and clinical care.

  • Communities

Volunteers, educators and faith groups who make care possible.
